 The Gas Springs Technical Information section provides an overview of how gas springs work and how they can be customized to suit various applications. Putting it all together to match application requirements is the next step in the gas spring design process. When standard units are not suitable, IGS product specialists design custom gas springs for specific applications. Marine, aerospace, food equipment, pharmaceutical and medical device applications all potentially require custom gas springs that utilize special seals, fluids, rod and body materials, as well as specific performance, force, stroke, fitting and length requirements.
Over the past 25 years we have worked on thousands of applications, many of which led to the development of new and application specific designs. The body of knowledge amassed from this effort often allows us to move seamlessly into areas that other gas spring manufacturers either cannot or do not want to pursue.
